Phân tích đề thi Writing Task 2 ngày 18/9/2019
Với bài post này, chúng ta sẽ cùng lên dàn ý cụ thể cho từng đoạn và sau đó dần hình thành các đoạn văn hoàn chỉnh. Bài viết dưới đây được mình sử dụng những từ vựng chọn lọc cơ bản, không quá “đao to búa lớn” mà chủ yếu nhấn mạnh vào tính linh hoạt khi sử dụng được trong nhiều ngữ cảnh và triển khai ý rõ ràng, mạch lạc. Đây cũng là đặc điểm chính trong các bài viết mẫu band 8.0, 9.0 của cựu giám khảo chấm thi IELTS nổi tiếng – Simon với lối viết cụ thể hóa về ideas và không sử dụng các từ vựng quá to tát trong bài viết của mình.
Hãy cùng phân tích đề bài nhé:
“In many schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts subjects (eg. languages) and boys choose science subjects (eg. Physics). What do you think are the reasons? Do you think that this tendency should be changed?”
Chắc hẳn các bạn đều nhận ra đây là loại 2-part question essay – một dạng bài không quá xa lạ nhưng ít được đưa ra trong đề thi IELTS. Vậy để viết được bài luận 250 chữ trong vòng 40 phút cho đề bài này, chúng ta nên lập luận và đưa ra quan điểm của mình như thế nào? Dưới đây mình sẽ đưa ra cho các bạn outline chính của mình viết cho đề bài này nhé.

- Đề cập đến những vấn đề sẽ được đưa ra trong phần thân bài: Lí do và quan điểm rằng xu hướng chọn môn nên được thay đổi

- Đoạn 1:
- Lí do 1: Xu hướng chọn môn dựa nào đặc điểm giới tính
- Lí do 2: Quan điểm truyền thống của bố mẹ áp đặt lên con cái => ảnh hưởng đến việc chọn môn

- Đoạn 2: Xu hướng chọn môn nên được thay đổi
- Học sinh được lựa chọn môn học dựa theo sở thích và khả năng
- Bố mẹ và nhà trường nên định hướng, khuyến khích học sinh lựa chọn môn học yêu thích

Bài mẫu:
In most of education institutions, there is a trend that girls prefer arts-related subjects like languages while science ones are chosen by more boys, take Physics as an example. This essay will discuss further about the reasons for this tendency and explain why this situation should be modified.
To begin with, it is undeniable to say that gender-specific characteristics have tremendous effects on how a student chooses subjects at school. Indeed, most female students are supposed to have vivid imagination and increased capacity to memorize facts and data. Consequence, they show better performance at subjects required detailed orientation competency and meticulousness such as languages and literature. Besides, male students, who are believed to have logical brain and exploring desires, tend to be more outstanding in subjects relating to numerical, analytical and research skills. Another reason is based on traditional opinions that are rooted from adults’ minds. It is a common sense that parents always want their girls to work in less competitive fields like medical care, education and general administration while boys are expected to be in a more challenging working environment like business and sales. As a result, this mindset brings huge impacts on how students choose their subjects.
From my point of view, this selective tendency needs to be taken into consideration as this trend hugely affects students’ career orientation. It is true to say that each student has their own unique characteristics which sometimes may go against sexual assumptions and parent’s intention. As a consequence, students should be able to follow their desire to study any subject that they want and feel eager to learn. On the other hand, parents and schools should orient and encourage their children to select their favorite subjects rather than forcing them to choose things that meet parent’s expectations.
To conclude, there are many factors contributing to students’ choices about subjects. The most important thing is parents and schools should join hands in helping students make their wise decisions in terms of optional subjects.
